We teach jiu-jitsu!

But wait, what the heck is jiu-jitsu?

Jiu-jitsu is a self-defense martial art based on grappling, throws, and submission holds.

The word “jiu jitsu” originates from the Japanese “Jū” meaning “gentle” and “Jutsu” meaning “art”; actually, jiu jitsu is the “gentle art”.
It focuses on the skill of controlling one's opponent, gaining a dominant position, and using several techniques to force them into submission via joint locks or chokes.

Jiu-jitsu does not rely on strength. You do NOT have to be super strong or athletic. Body mechanics and leverage are the foundation of jiu-jitsu's effectiveness compared to any other martial art.

It works no matter what situation you find yourself in.

As you become more knowledgeable and skilled in the art, you will be tested periodically to advance to the next belt!

Tip: the white uniform is called a Gi [gee]

How do We Teach Jiu-Jitsu?

We start class with a warm-up series to get the body prepared for training. This is arguably the most critical aspect of training jiu-jitsu. We don't want anyone to get hurt, so we prime the body. We want a safe training environment for everyone.

Then comes the majority of the period, the instruction. The instructor will demonstrate multiple moves to the class. Everyone will intermittently practice these techniques one at a time with a partner.

You will be challenged, but only because we want to see you succeed! The third and final phase is live rolling.

You will be partnered up with someone who shares your same expertise(or close to it), and for a timed period, you will implement these techniques in a live setting.

Do you feel like jiu jitsu isn't for you? Jiu jitsu is for everyone! Anyone within any physical limitation can learn.
